Hospitality Conversion Websites

Websites that move guests from interest to action.

For hotels, restaurants and holiday homes. Designed around the real booking, reservation, PMS, CRM and measurement journey, not around an isolated homepage mock-up.

The commercial position

A hospitality website is not a brochure.

It is the commercial path between discovery and a completed booking, reservation, order or qualified enquiry. Its job is to help the right guest choose, trust and act without creating extra work for operations.

Katalyst combines operator-side revenue, e-commerce, distribution, marketing and system experience. We can work with the technology already in place, replace a weak layer where the evidence supports it, or build the missing connection between them.

A redesign is not automatically the answer. Sometimes the highest value change is the offer, room or property content, booking hand-off, mobile journey, menu structure, tracking or follow-up around the existing site.

Three commercial journeys

The same design process should not be forced onto three different businesses.

01

Hotels & Resorts

Turn the official website into a stronger direct-booking channel, not a visual hand-off to an unrelated booking engine.

  • Direct-booking proposition and offer architecture
  • Room, package, dining, wellness and experience paths
  • Booking-engine integration and mobile hand-off
  • Rate, policy, trust and best-direct-value clarity
  • Search, metasearch, campaign and CRM landing paths
  • Booking-start, exit and completion measurement

Intended outcome
A clearer route from discovery to the official booking path, with the commercial evidence needed to improve it after launch.

02

Restaurants & F&B Groups

Build a website around the decisions guests actually make: what to order, when to visit, why to choose, how to reserve and whether to return.

  • Searchable menus, dishes, occasions and dayparts
  • Reservation, waitlist, deposit and ordering paths
  • Private dining, catering and event enquiry funnels
  • Location, parking, access and opening information
  • First-party guest capture and consent-led follow-up
  • Source-to-reservation and seated-cover measurement

Intended outcome
A commercial website that supports reservations, orders, event enquiries and repeat visits rather than stopping at attractive food photography.

03

Holiday Homes & Serviced Apartments

Connect the brand, property content and live booking journey without forcing the operator to abandon a suitable PMS.

  • PMS-synchronised properties, rates and availability
  • Property, collection, area and long-stay landing pages
  • Mobile search, quote, checkout and payment journeys
  • Trust, policies, reviews and direct-booking reasons
  • WhatsApp or enquiry fallbacks where justified
  • Guest, owner and portfolio lead measurement

Intended outcome
A direct-booking surface that reflects the real inventory and gives the operator ownership of the brand, journey and guest relationship.

Discovery-to-Revenue Path

Six jobs the website has to complete.

The method is public. The detailed diagnostics, decision rules, research, implementation patterns and property-specific evidence remain part of the engagement.

01

Be found

Build the entity, technical structure, content architecture and landing paths needed for search, maps, campaigns, social and AI-assisted discovery.

02

Be understood

Make the property, restaurant, offer or portfolio clear quickly. Guests should not need to decode the concept before they can decide whether it fits.

03

Be trusted

Place policies, value, proof, location, contact, payment and operational information where hesitation appears, not inside a footer nobody reads.

04

Be bookable

Design the shortest credible route into the booking engine, reservation system, order flow or enquiry process, across the devices guests actually use.

05

Be measurable

Instrument the commercial steps that matter. Traffic alone cannot explain where a booking, reservation or qualified enquiry was lost.

06

Be improved

Launch is the start of the evidence period. Review behaviour, commercial outcomes, guest questions and operating feedback, then improve the path deliberately.

Measurement

A prettier site is not the success metric.

The measurement plan depends on system access and the signals the booking or reservation provider exposes. Unknown is reported as unknown rather than converted into a flattering attribution claim.

  • Qualified visits by source and landing path
  • Availability, menu, room, property and offer engagement
  • Booking-engine or reservation-system starts
  • Handover exits and observable completion signals
  • Qualified enquiries and response ownership
  • Paid seated covers or confirmed direct bookings where attributable
  • Repeat, remarketing and first-party guest capture where consent permits
  • Commercial value after media, commission and platform cost

Operator evidence

The work comes from owning the commercial journey inside operations.

The following are selected outcomes from operating roles held before Katalyst Labs. They are not presented as Katalyst client results, guarantees or universal benchmarks.

01

Direct bookings exceeded 50% at a luxury flagship hotel

02

Direct-booking contribution doubled or tripled across several portfolio assets

03

Al Alamein Hotel moved from #40 of 58 to #1 on major OTAs, while brand.com generated 20% of online bookings

Delivery

From commercial brief to measured learning.

01

Conversion and journey audit

Review the current website, analytics, booking or reservation path, campaigns, content, mobile behaviour, system constraints and operational ownership.

02

Commercial website architecture

Define audiences, search intent, page roles, offers, conversion actions, integrations, evidence and the measurement plan before visual production begins.

03

Design, content and build

Create the visual system, page copy, property or menu structure, responsive interfaces and technical implementation around the agreed commercial path.

04

Integration and acceptance

Connect the approved PMS, booking engine, reservation platform, CRM, payments, analytics and messaging tools, then test real user journeys and failure states.

05

Launch and learning period

Release with measurement, monitoring and clear ownership. The first evidence window is used to correct friction rather than defend the original design.

What stays with the client

Domain, content, analytics access, approved creative assets, system accounts and the agreed source or export rights are stated in the scope. Ownership should not be discovered during an exit.

What is not promised

No universal conversion rate, guaranteed ranking, guaranteed booking uplift or attribution beyond the evidence the connected systems can support.

Start with the journey

Bring the current site, the booking path and the commercial target.

We will determine whether the right answer is a new website, a booking-path rebuild, a smaller conversion correction or a phased programme around the systems already in place.

Related Journal

A conversion website is part of the commercial journey.

The design layer matters, but the commercial questions sit around it: where demand arrives, what the guest needs to understand, how the booking or reservation hand-off behaves, and what can actually be measured afterwards.
